It’s finally here! Following the Darkroom Premium version, released 2 weeks ago, the Standard (free) version is available in the App Store after a long approval process.

Darkroom Standard v.2.3 will now work for iPhones running the latest OS, 3.1. iPhones running OS 3.0 will continue to encounter issues, so please update to the latest OS.

We’re also working on some exciting improvements, so stayed tuned for that! In the meantime, enjoy your Darkroom Standard or upgrade to Premium!

    Hi,

    I’ve just looking in the AppStore on my phone, but it says there is no update available for Darkroom (I’m presently running 2.2). Any idea how long it takes for the app to be released?

    cheers, Mark

    @Mark, v.2.3 is out now. It should have notified you to update on the iPhone. If not, have you tried updating it from iTunes desktop app?

    Send us an email, support @ stepcase.com with further details if you continue to have trouble.

    Regards,
    Angus

    How did you work around the “undocumented API” issue?

  • Nicholas

    There are some great improvements but still no geo-tagging. Is geo-tagging coming?

  • Johnny Kwan

    @Stephen
    Apple officially released new APIs for the camera in OS 3.1, so it’s all good to go

    @Nicholas
    Apple still doesn’t officially support geo-tagging for photos taken with their camera API though… but we do have something up our sleeves that’ll make it works to some degree.
    So, hopefully soon.

    @JohnnyKwan Great to hear! It’s the one thing that stops me from using this for all photos.

    I do wish Apple would make it easier for 3rd party photo apps to have full functionality.

    Thanks for the reply
